Tetanus toxoid immunization after an injury will help to prevent tetanus arising from that injury?

Yes. If you have experienced a deep or puncture wound, or a wound contaminated with dirt, a booster dose of Tetanus vaccine may be given (if the last tetanus dose was more than five years ago).
This booster shot will protect you against tetanus infections.
