Yes. If you have experienced a deep or puncture wound, or a wound contaminated with dirt, a booster dose of Tetanus vaccine may be given (if the last tetanus dose was more than five years ago).
This booster shot will protect you against tetanus infections.

Tetanus Toxoid - Is redness, heat, swelling 4th day after vaccination normal?

My husband still has a red, somewhat sore localized lump on the 4th day after a routine tetanus booster. Should he be checked, or is this ok?
