A friend has a little discoloration - redness on the upper lip. Can applying tenovate cream help? The discoloration appeared about 6 months back and slowly spread - it is a circle 2 mm in diameter now. There are a few very small such spots on the arms too. Tenovate cream cured her lichen plainus which was over an oblong spot about one and a half cm long. A doctor friend said tenovate cream can be applied for this discolored spot on the lip also, but one has to be careful because tenovate is a steroid. I want to know the facts.

Temovate is not indicated for use as a treatment for vitiligo.
It is a steroid cream and is used to reduce itching, redness, and swelling associated with many skin conditions. It works by decreasing certain immune responses, which reduces redness and itching of skin.
