Does anyone know of the dangers of smoking cigs with the meds I take?
I take two 400mg twice day tegretol xr. I also take Phenytoin . 100 mg every 8 hours =300mg per day.
They just don't seem to work. does this combination work well for others.

A moderate drug interaction does exist between phenytoin and tegretol. You should notify your physician if you experience loss of seizure control or symptoms of phenytoin toxicity (drowsiness, visual disturbances, change in mental status, nausea, or ataxia).
Cigarette smoking will not affect these medications.
