It sounds to me like you are to take the wellbutrin for a week, then stop it, then put the patch on, reading how you wrote it. I don't believe that is correct. I think the dr means for you take it for a week, during which time you aren't trying to stop smoking, because the wellbutrin is just getting into your system. After a week, you keep taking the wellbutrin but stop smoking and use a nicotine patch.
