If I am used to taking 10 mg of hydrocodone for pain but am switching to talacen what is the equivalent dosage?

The usual adult dose is 1 caplet every 4 hours as needed for pain relief, up to a maximum of 6 caplets per day. They are two very different meds so it is hard to say what is "equivalent" to the other but this dose would be where one would start if they were switching from hydrocodone. Talacen has a ceiling effect of 6 tablets a day max. Any more and you get too much acetaminophen.
