Hello meisoojoon. They are both very much alike. The big difference is in the halflife. Prozac, will stay in your system for weeks. The reason being is it takes your body, chemical make-up, a very long time to break this drug up. On the other hand, zoloft, leaves your body very quickly. it has a fast half-life. Usually dissapears within a week, from your body. This might be why your doctor switched you to zoloft, your being pregnant. ( I am guessing thats why, my thoughts) Zoloft as prozac, is well tolerated, and has minimal side effects. You should begin to feel better, shortly, it will take anywhere from four to six weeks to feel or see rather results. I was on it (zoloft) and it was a fine medication for me, in as much as my depression and anxiety was concerned. Oh, congratulations on the up and coming new born! :-0) Hope thats its a healthy and happy baby.ha! best wishes to you meisioojoon.

Hey meisoojoon,
The Zoloft may work better for you than the Prozac. Everyone is different, what works for one person, may not work for another. It will take several weeks to get the full effects of the Zoloft (sertraline).
To read about the use of this antidepressant while pregnant, go to:
http://www.drugs.com/pregnancy/sertraline.html
Please remember it is important to your health and therefore the health of your baby to control the depression and anxiety. If the benefits outweigh the risks, it is ok to take this medication.
To read about the use of Klonopin during pregnancy, go to:
http://www.drugs.com/pregnancy/clonazepam.html
Again, as long as the benefits outweigh the risks, it is ok to take this medication.
Wishing you and your baby the very best,
Laurie

Hello meisoojoon! I used to take Proxac years ago untill my doctor changed my medication to Zoloft. I was still having some symptoms of Depression and Anxiety on Prozac. I aso had a trial of Paxil but it was the same as Prozac, no relief. I have been on Zoloft for 10 years now. I am such a different person! My Depression and Anxiety are controlled. The only negative result is that I now have Insomnia. Alot of people on Zoloft get Insomnia. But, I live with it because my life has been so much better because of Zoloft. It would be nice if everyone could find a drug with no side effects but that is rare. I wish you the best! Sweetie Pie

Helloo turkee25. Nice to meet you. zoloft, was a very good medication for me. It helped combat, fight my anxiety, as well as my depression. Side effects? Everyone reacts differently to medication. Zoloft is a well tolerated drug, by most people. They (people) who are taking it, in general, have mostly so called positive or "good" things to say about it. There are side-effects, normal or common ones, insomnia, stomach aches, feeling nauseous (nausea). It takes anywhere from four to six weeks for your body to respond to it, that you begin to feel some what better or better as a whole.best wishes
Thanks dear pledge for your response.6 weeks is too much, I hope it will help me too. thanks again:)
don't be scared turkee, fortunately no side effect for me after taking it for 4 days.
great answer, pledge! informed.
oops... i also wanted to say, the group zoloft, celexa, prozac, lexapro, paxil is in is called SSRI's. You may need to try a whole different group: SNRI's, which consist of wellbutrin, strattera, effexor (xr), cymbalta, and pristiq. i am on effexor xr and love it, after having been on basically all the rest i mentioned... However, i'm not sure if you can use this in pregnancy.
