I had been on 150mg of VenlafaxineER for about a year. When my last scrip was gone, I called my doctor's sec'ty and asked her to ask the Dr to change me back to 40mg of Citalopram, which is what I was on for about a year before she changed me to the Effexor.

Hello Carlady. I imagine it might be a few days. Hard to say, you went from one ssri to another. It takes awhile fror your body to adapt to the new chemicals. I understand that you had no choice, and I sympathize. Hopefully the citalopram will kick in within a few days and you'll be feeling a lot better. Best of wishes,pledge
