I take 10mg Singulair nightly for my respiratory allergies; however when I go outside during the day I'll itch all over due to my allergy to cedar. Is Singulair suppose to prevent this reaction, or is it okay to take 25mg Benedryl?

For over 1 year she has been suffering from severe nose & chest congestion. After a thorough check up the doctor has ruled out he Adenoid problem and has put her on Singulair Pediatrics whenever she has frequent/irritating cough to control the same. But, still she is coughing and the nose is stuffy.
I have read the side effects of Sungulair being stuffed nose and cough. Is it normal and what is a better medicine to be used.

Shin splints - could this be a side effect from taking singulair and advair?

I'm a very active person with allergy related asthma. My doctor has prescribed singulair and advair about a month ago. I have been taking both of them daily. I felt great for the first couple of days but after about two weeks I developed shin splints that will not go away.

Is there any chance that they're somehow related to the singulair or advair?

Thanks!

I don't feel I need Singulair on a regular basis as my asthma is controlled pretty well by Advair. When I come in contact with an allergen like dogs at someone's home I will take Singulair to get me through but will not continue to take it after. I feel that when doing this my asthma symptoms will be worse in the coming days. I am wondering if going on and coming off the drug may be the cause of this.
