How long does Fiorinal (butalbital/asa&caff) affect the system?

I was prescribed Fiorinal (butalbital/asa&caff) for severe head aches. I took a pill on Saturday night. On Tuesday I realized the pamphlet that came with my Fiorinal said it can lessen the affects of oral contraceptives. I had intercourse with my husband on Monday night. I immediately purchased Plan B on Tuesday afternoon. My question is, would the Plan B have worked after taking the Fiorinal on Saturday night? Would taking one Fiorinal be enough to affect my birth control pill?

Headache - How do I talk to my doctor about Fiorinal w/codeine in a reasonable way?

Hi, I'm new here. I need some advice/input about how to talk to my doctor about a med that's workedvery well for me in the past, granted this was a few years ago. Fiorinal w/codeine has worked better than almost anything else, and Ive tried quite alot, including Vicodin, ultram, Imitrex, Relpax, Keppra, Fioricet, Fiorinal, and Bystolic, many of which either didn't work or made things worse. He said he's unwilling to switch me to this med, because I'm currently also...

I was previously taking fiorinal with codeine and it seemed to work. Now my doctor prescribe?

fioricet, but does not seem to work, or if it does work, it is for a very short time. Now the doctor prescribed fiorinal because fioricet did not work as well and because it seems tylenol is quite dangerous. Does anyone know is it the codeine that was so effective on my headaches? I believe they are either sinus/allergy, tension or stress headaches. Though when I have a headache i am very sensitive to light and sounds, i dont believe they are migranes, but i do get them very often, several per...

Fiorinal vs. Fioricet?

I was using Fiorinal for about 10 years when my new dr decided she wanted me to try maxalt. Well, maxalt works but is quite expensive and quite frankly the fiorinal worked a little better. The maxalt doesnt seem to keep the migraine gone for more than a day or two! So yesterday she called in Fioricet for me. I have liver issues so I asked her to change it to Fiorinal. She said she isnt comfortable prescribing Fiorinal. Does anyone know what the difference between the two Rx's are besides...

I was told by my health carrier that if I can find the company that makes fiorinal with codeine that I could get it for a much lesser cost. I have no insurance for prescriptions and I am on disability. I desperately need help with the cost of my prescriptions. Please help me as much as you can.

I suffer from headaches often (stress?) about 5 to10 a month and have tried: Tylenol, Fiorinal, Trexemet, Vicodin and all of the otc medications. Had MRI's and neurologist testing... The Vicodin seems to work the best especially when I have to be at work, but allot of the time it seems like I need something stronger but the doc says he wants to stay away from the vicodin/fiorinal because i'm already taking a controlled substance (adderal) any suggestions?

I am a 26 year old male. I have been suffering from tension headaches for the past 8-10 years?

I have taken numerous drugs: Tylenol, Aleve, Ibuprofen (up to 800 mgs), etc., and was even diagnosed with a case of rebound headache ultimately due to ergotamine toxicity (due to taking too much Migril). I was put on Pamelor and after a while things got better. I now get headaches a few times a week. Sometimes I get none, sometimes I get them 3-4 times a week at the most. I have been taking Fiorinal for my headaches for at least the last 5-6 years and find that it works best for me.

I moved...
