I am 75 years old and prescribed Femara by my oncologist. I am in the lowest possible income as I... receive only $16,000.00 a year from social security. I would like the Femara at a free or discounted price. My doctor tells me I have to be on this drug daily for 5 years. Had a bi lateral mast last year. The Femara is suppose to keep the cancer from showing up in other areas.

Hello, I am presently taking femara (1 1/2 yrs into the therapy and 2 1/2 more years to go). I have developed arthritis in my thumb joint and wanted to take glucosamine chondroitin supplements. Will this interfere with my femara therapy? I live in Italy and the doctors do not believe in vitamins/supplements, etc. so no matter which doctor I ask they really don't answer since it's very different over here. I would appreciate if you could help me out with some information so that I can...

I've been taking femara for 13 months and have had the usual side effects i.e., bone aches, muscle aches, nausea etc.
A few months ago my eye sight seemed weaker and the dryness and burning increased. Also blurred vision so went to the eye doctor who discovered an unusual catarat formation and not due to old age. He'll be monitoring this problem but eventually I'll need surgery. Is it the femara?
And if I have catarat surgery and still on femara will the catarat problem return?...

I started on Arimidex and could not tolerate the side effects. I was switched to Femara about 3 months ago and am still experiencing a lot of side effects. As of late I have noticed severe ringing in my ears along with all the other side effects. There are three tiny bones in the ears. Could Femara or any of the aromatase inhibiters affect these bones too? This is extremely bothersome and is getting worse.
