I went to the emergency room yesterday and they gave me a triple dose to begin with and then within 3 hours they gave me a continuous does which takes 1 1/2 hours I think it had at least 5-6 times the dose. After another 1-2 hours they gave me another continuous does. After all of that albuterol, my heart was racing too fast and oxygen saturation level was too low. It seemed with every does my symptoms got worse, my chest felt tighter and overall I just didn't fell. It seems to me that...

Recently, I was given a nebulizer treatment for bronchitis. I was also given albuterol to be taken on an as need basis. Within 4 days of the treatment and albuterol, I had a blood work done. My blood glucose numbers were in the range of a diabetic! These numbers were not normal and were out of the norm from my prior year physical blood work. Would albuterol cause this spike in glucose?

Is it a good idea to take sleeping pills at all? I can't sleep, and this medcine makes me shaky and hyper, I don't know if it would confuse my body or not. And I've always been a little skeptical on taking sleeping pills.

Is the new Ventolin inhaler as good as the old Albuterol inhaler?

Hello. I am new to this board and forum. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has used this inhaler. My child (age 15) was prescribed this to take the place of the old Albuterol inhaler which is being phased out because of the cfcs that are said to harm the environment.

If anyone has any experiences or things that I should be aware of, I would appreciate your input.

Thanks in advance!

Is albuterol addictive? Is it a form of a steroid? What is the maxium dosage for one day? Thanks, I would appreciate any help I might get. Would you consider it safe if you had someone that sat around all day steadily sucking on the inhaler, even gets up during the night and uses it? If I can remember correctly...I thought the dosage was suppose to be 3 - 4 times daily.
