I have approx. 30 Suboxone 8 mg strips left and recently lost my coverage due to unemployment. Where can I find a " workable" effective tapering schedule that will not cripple me with withdrawals during my job search? Thank you in advance.

Dear Robert... I think if u follow patti's taper plan u will be fine. It goes a bit slower than Robert's, therefore really minimizing any withdrawal symptoms. I am currently using patti's plan myself.
The physical exercise is a key.
Even though Robert has not gotten back with u, if u click onto his avatar, u can read his induction, maintenance, and taper plans. Many people have used this with success also.
I tend to like the slower method but everyone is different. They both work.
U have to remember how long the half life is of buprenorphine. Also, it has such a strong affinity for the "mu" Opiod receptor site. In addition it is very lipophilic (fat loving)--- it hangs around in fat cells for a long time. These r all the reasons it is tricky and tenacious from which to withdraw. But, if patient, it can be done successfully.
I don't know about u but I cannot wait to be off of suboxone. It was a life saver but it is time to get off.
Good luck and be well. Welcome to the site. Keep us posted. Pup

Welcome to the family, I'm struggling with tapering off percocet 10/325, but I'm sure the withdrawals are very similar. I wish you the best luck and success. Don't give up ever, keep at it and come back to the site for support. There are many people with all different taper plans. One thing I've learned ia everything is all trial and error. I will continue to seek support and try different taper plans till I succeed. Best to you, helpmehawaii

Thanks all for your input/support. I have been on both Subutex and Suboxone for 7 years. That's right - 7 years. First it was Subutex then at my insistence, Suboxone. Of course the doctors in SoFla insisted it wasn't addictive, even though the pharma manufacturer's site eventually warned otherwise. Now, I am down to about 1mg of a strip a day, lost my job and in short, my insurance and have 29 8mg strips left. Anyone have a good taper from 1mg/day to none with little discomfort?

Thank you do much:) I did fail to mention that the "doctors" in SoFla had me on Subutex for 5 years before switching me to Suboxone (which at that time I was no longer doing pills - now I was hooked on reckitt's drug). At this very moment, I take a 2mg portion of the strip and feel, well, eh. I work(ed) as a creative director for a huge ad agency and this drug has crippled me mentally. I need to get off it and fast, hence my request -- my best to all in our situation, whether our own faults or not - looking forward, Rob
