i am asking this for my 43 year old daughter. has anyone taken stattera for add? she went to my doctor who put her on srattera instead of adderall. she doesn't think it is helping and i am trying to convince her to see another doc. she is a teacher and has never used any drugs. can anyone tell me if strattera really works or help me to give her advice

I tried Strattera (after 10 years on Dexedrine which worked well) and it was an absolute disaster. It made me tired all the time and I gained 30lbs and was only taking it for one month.
I'd recommend to your daughter that she go back to her doctor and tell him/her Straterra isn't working. If the doctor refuses to prescribe stimulants, then the doctor is an idiot, and she should find a better one. Unless she has a history of addiction/abuse of drugs, there is no reason why stimulants shouldn't be an option for her to try.
