I want to know if it is possible to control my blood pressure by just eating right, so that I do not have to take any sort of pills.

DO NOT stop them on your own. You can lose any excess weight, get all salt from your diet, and it may be better then it was but it doesn't get rid of all high blood pressure. Discuss this with your doctor, because uncontrolled blood pressure will kill you, silently. You won't know there is anything wrong until you have a stroke, or your kidneys shut down.
