Mirena (levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system) consists of a T-shaped polyethylene frame (T-body) with a steroid reservoir (hormone elastomer core) around the vertical stem..
See I understand your problem but the fact is that you are quite a bit positive about yourself i.e. u r over reacting...
See you got mirena for 2 yrs and you are quite brave to overcome that phase but let me tel you one thing don't wory or rush of getting pregnant ..Because u gt mirena for a long 2yrs so it might prevent pregnancy for a period and a maximum of 5 yrs... but its maximum.
But don't wory u'll become pregnant because science is the proof..
Have patience and have fun...
My best wishes are there with you..<Andreane Parker>

Sometimes it takes a while for the hormones from the Mirena to leave your system. If what I read is correct, the hormone is released slowly while you have the Mirena in and will last 5 years, not necessarily that it will take 5 years for the hormone to leave your body after you have it removed. Please make sure you are taking the pre natal vitamins now, since you are trying to get pregnant. They work better if you are taking them before you get pregnant. The stress and worry of trying to get pregnant can make it harder to get pregnant. Try to relax and not worry about it. You could also talk to an Ob/Gyn and see if there is anything else you can do to speed up the process. Make sure your husband cuts back on smoking, caffeine and wears boxers instead of brief underwear. These things can help him. Make sure you are in good health before you get pregnant. It took me 13 months after getting off the pill to get pregnant, while both of my sisters got pregnant immediately after getting off. Try some relaxation breathing techniques and go see your doctor.

I had my mirena in for five years, just got it removed two days ago. My doctor told me that I am ten times more fertile now with it just being removed. I would suggest you go see your doctor. I do know that everyone is different but for my doctor to tell me I am more fertile, that should give hope to the fact that pregnancy is possible after the mirena! Good luck!

May I ask your age? I am in my 30's and have Mirena. When it comes out, I will be around age 37, making pregnancy take a little longer than it would have in my early 30's or my 20's. If it happens at all. Age definitely plays a role in how long after removal a woman can conceive.

Hello! I am 26. I asked my GYN if my age had anything to do with how fertile I am after removal. He told me absolutely not. Now yes age does play a factor in the ability to get pregnant but he told me that 60-70% of women of all ages get pregnant within the first year of removal. I wanted this information because I was considering getting the ten year IUD which would make me 36 at the time of removal and he told me that I would be more fertile at 36 after removal than I would be at 36 if I had never had the IUD inserted. Hope this helps!
