Especially if Taxol caused severe neuropathy?
So carboplatin and Gemzar is a good match for recurrent OC?

Not sure if Gemzar is the same as Gemcitabine... but here is my story, I had been treated with Taxol/Carboplatin in 2009-2010 and then had OC recurrer in Feb. 2011, I was treated with Carboplatin/Gemcitabine and so far have had clean PET scans. I was also on a clinical trial for a 3rd drug added in but I had to be taken off because it was "too toxic" after 2 cycles.
If you have been treated with carboplatin before be watchful for allergic reactions. They can still give you the carboplatin in a desense unit. My neuropathy (pain) was really bad with the Taxol/Carboplatin but this time the neuropathy was not as bad - it wasn't pain but just tingles in the feet and fingers. Strange sensations; not painful sensations - which was more tolerable in my opinion.
