I have taken Biaxin and Ceftin. It got better for a while then worse again. Now my ear and cheek is hurting. Don't know what I can do. I am miserable. Will this go away? Should I try another antibiotic?

I agree 100% with sweetlemon. Definitely make an appt. with an ENT specialist. A good friend of my hubby suffers horribly from these sinus infections. I would think eventually you become immune to the antibitotics. He had his nasal cavities "flushed" by an ENT doc and has not had any recurrence for the past 2-3 years or so. This could be one possible solution for you. My hubby also sufferers from sinusitis and does the round of antibiotics, this usually helps him within 10 days. His flair ups are becoming more frequent (3-4 times year) and will be seeing an ENT very soon if it becomes bothersome again. The accompanying headaches on the front and temple areas are the worse.
I know first hand the misery these infections cause. Please make an appt. very soon!
Best wishes,
chris

Both my 88yr old Grandma and my 39yr old sister suffer from sinusitis very badly and after many different meds both of them found relief by using a "neddy pot" which you can obtain at any drug store.
It was the old fashioned way of cleansing your nose out that also should help your ears and passages to the sinuses.
Nothing helped my family and now they have relief and use it twice a week when they don't have problems and daily when they do. I've noticed they don't seem to suffer as much as they once did. My sister's doctor recommended this after many meds either didn't work or were way too expensive. This may be a much cheaper way and give you better relief.
They come with packets to mix with the water and it looks like a plastic tea pot.
I hope this helps
Sometimes the good old fashioned home remedies do work best. Great idea!

Thanks everybody, for responding. I am feeling better these days. I have stopped the antibiotics completely and turned to using nasal sprays. Btw, I have been on saline rinses twice a day already. I also saw my ENT in November, but he cannot find anything and can't help me. I was very disappointed. That's when I know I have to help myself and started my search for other remedies. Before I have sinusitis I didn't know there are so many nasal sprays to treat this problem. Obviously many people suffered from this. Right now I am using a grapeseed extract nasal spray and it seems to control the pain. I am also trying a new spray called Nasodren which is supposed to be a new breakthrough in concept. But my problem is not completely gone...
I realized that in the long run I need to get my immune system up to combat this problem. Rest, eat well and exercise.

hi chris...
I have a friend that swears by saline nasal spray, she used to get recurrent sinus infections and from using the saline she hasn't had one in years.
'Tis an option.

Yes, that's what Jims friend uses too. But his was so bad he had them flushed first. He said what came out was so nasty, but the relief was instant. He now uses the sprays as a precaution.
"nasty" chris... I could hurl now, thanks girl!
LOL
Not only that, it had been infected so long the odor alone made him gag. The doc knew to wear a paper mask.
chris,
You are intentionally trying to make me hurl! I did enough of that during WD!
You nutty girl!
Your causing too many problems. Time for us to get on another thread! Is it my fault the sinus flush is icky? Oh, and the color!! A cross between dinosaur green and corn oil consistency. This is only how he described it. But it did work great!!
