Hello,
Yes, body aches is a serious side effect, you must contact your doctor ASAP and let him / her know about what you are experiencing.-
For future reference:
Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Call your doctor at once if you have any new or worsening symptoms such as: mood or behavior changes, anxiety, panic attacks, trouble sleeping, or if you feel impulsive, irritable, agitated, hostile, aggressive, restless, hyperactive (mentally or physically), more depressed, or have thoughts about suicide or hurting yourself.
Call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:
feeling light-headed, fainting;
fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms; or
chest pain or heavy feeling, pain spreading to the arm or shoulder, nausea, sweating, general ill feeling; or
problems with urination.

I suffered from depression for 10 years, virtually tried every drug. In October, during my last hospital admission I was treated by the head psychiatrist at the hospital. He put me on remeron. Four weeks later I was my old self for the first time in 10 years. I swear this is the "miracle" pill I had been searching for. This dr is now my new psychiatrist.
I read the user reviews which are very helpful. Many people said remeron increased their appetite but it didn't change mine. Probably because my dr also put me on ritalin, another miracle drug. He put me on this to get me off my butt. It really helps motivate me and does have the appetite suppressent quality. Lastly, he added deplin, which is a form of folic acid that gets directly into the brain, unlike supplements due. This medication helps my concentration, memory, organizational skills and ability to stay focused.
Thank you, I added you as a friend. I have heard good things about that drug, however I see only a PCP and he told me he does not prescibe that drug. I am unable to afford a psychiatrist. I am living on a retiement check from the state. I did read your profile and see you indeed are fighting so much more than I am. My problems are so trivial compared to yours. Good luck to you as well. You are a very strong person, never give up. And may God bless you as well.

Have you ever tried Remeron? I use to take that and it was the best depression medicine for sleep. When I took Trazodone I would wake up in the middle of the night and my vision would be off. Like I would try to walk into the bathroom and walk into the door instead. I switched pretty fast. remeron is for depression and sleep. You have to take it 30min before bed because it will KNOCK you out within that time but when you wake up you feel great. take care hope it all works out for you.
Thank you, I have not tried Remeron. When I got the script for Zoloft, I asked the pharmacist for something other than seroquel for sleep and he recommended it. But I was on the phone with my Dr. at the time and he said he did not prescribe remeron. Why I don't know, it may be because he is only a primary care Dr. only. I am retired and can not afford a physciatrist. The one time I did see one was during my hospital visit, and I soon realized they tend to overmedicate. All I need is one good antidepressant that will not have those horrible side effects. I sleep well on the trazodone and it does control the depression, so for now will continue to take it and deal with the sore muscles. I have dealt with much more difficult side effects. I do trust my Dr. and he has been a life saver. Most PCP's don't even want to treat crazy folk. He is willing to, all I have is a simple case clinical depression. However I was labeled by the state as much more during my hospital stay.
you seem so sweet. I wish the best for you. It will all work out. It just takes time to find the right medicine.

Thank you, I did go back to my Dr. and went through some more serious side effects when he changed me to Zoloft. I just don't know where to turn. I was on doxipine before that and it caused me to have RLS and kick so bad in my sleep I was waking my husband. I know I must take an antidepressant for life but the side effects are so horrible. I am trying to dismiss some of the muscle pain I have been having to getting older, over-doing it working, dancing the night away ect. Now you have me worried that it could be something very serious. I am running out of options and it costs so much to keep going back to the DR. I am retired and living off a very limited salary. I just want to make sure that this is indeed what I am having and that it is due to the trazodone. I thought about doing a little expirimenting on my own, and going back to the doxepine to see if it goes away. Both have been effective in treating my depression.

I am like okay which would I rather have, as a result of treating my depression. Jumpy feet, muscle pain, panic attacks. I am afraid to keep changing meds and have the depression come creeping back in. I can not risk hitting rock bottom again and wound back up in the hospital. My husband depends on me to take care of things. He does not read and I have to see to the household. Do you perhaps know of a drug I could ask for that would help for sleep and depression that does not cause all of these side effects?
Hello,
I am sorry you have to go through all you are going undergoing in your life at the moment.
With regards to the medication I strongly advise you for your doctor to put you on a new one, the reason being is that he / she knows your history, I do not, so , yes I can recommend a few like Lexapro: common side effect insomnia; Prozac: common s. effect insomnia,Paroxetine common s. effect insomnia, but I do not know what effect they might have on you (I am not a doctor), what reaction your organism may have to a different anti-depressant, meaning possible risks and side effects.
What can be good for me for example may not be the proper medication for you, we are all unique and we all react to medications in a different way.-
Therefore I believe in this case you will have to contact your doctor, I know your financial situation, but you need a professional to get you back on track and not let the depression come back.-
Take care.-
Thank you, all of the ones you mentioned I have been on and had the insomnia from them. The seroquel costs so much and I need that to go with them. I discussed this with my Dr. when he went to change my meds. It seems the only one left to try is Impramine and he said it is likely to cause the same thing since it is in the same family. The ones that seem to do best are the ones that sedate; Elavil, Prozac with seroquel for sleep, then doxapine, now tramadol. All of the ones that are newer and help seem to cause insomnia. Thanks for your help, you are right. It is all trial and error. My current Dr. does not know all of my history as I only began using him 5 or 6 years ago. I had a Dr. before , that refused to treat me when I had a relaspe in my depression and requested to be changed. He simply told me to double up on my Elavil. When it was causeing restless legs. So needless to say it got worse. I do believe that at that time I was so desperate I just went off meds and wound up in a mental facility. Just wanted to avoid past mistakes.
Great advice, maso!
DeNeese, I know how hard it is with depression and not being able to handle most of the meds. I have the same side effects that you have expressed. I am on a limited income so going back and forth to the doctor can be a problem. Finding the right med for depression is hit and miss. It can be a long process. I wish I had the answer for you. Just know that there are those of us here who hear you and understand. Continue being the strong person you are knowing with faith and diligence you will find what works for you.
Thank you Springer, after reading your profile I see that you too are fighting to keep your head above water also. Good luck.
