Should I stop taking my allopurinol if I have a gout flare up?

As far as I know allopurinol should not be stopped during a gout flare up. Although allopurinol therapy is not started when you have an acute gout attack, if you are already on it then the treatment should continue.

Please let your doctor know and they will be able to give anti-inflammatory, etc. to help with pain and inflammation.
