Singulair is a good medicine to try-much better than using steroids. Singulair may help to control him on a regular basis so that he doesnt have bad episodes and can stay off the steroids. It is not a rescue drug or to be used for an acute episode, it is more a long term drug to keep asthma under better control. He will still need a rescue inhaler for bad episodes.
