Yes, you can take Glimiperide if you have had a heart attack or heart surgery. Make sure your doctor is aware of your medical history.
There is a warning on all oral hypoglycemic drugs that they may cause an increased risk of cardiovascular mortality as compared to treatment with just diet & exercise. This was based on a study of just one similar oral hypoglycemic.
If you are concerned you shoud discuss the risks and benefits of treatment with your doctor.
