It sounds like you need to be seen by a pain management dr. You should be able to get a referral to one by your primary care dr. You might Google pain management doctors in your area. Pick one out and take the name/address to your pc dr. Since most pc doctors either can't, or won't, deal with chronic pain patients it's normally fairly easy to get a referral.
I hope this helps somewhat and I wish you the best of luck.

Your previous doctor has left without you being able to get your records? I believe that is wrong, not legal. Anyway, you can go to WebMd's physician locator by googling "find a physician" and scroll down to the WebMD site. Once you have the physician locator you type in your zipcode and choose anesthisiologist/ pain management doctor from the drop down menu and it will give you the available doctors in your area. I know you have tried many calls, but keep trying. Was the doctor that left your primary care or a specialist? If your primary care than get established with a new primary care and get a referral that way.

Hi tgeorgette, if you are still without your meds by the time you read this, please google Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome, it will explain just WHY you feel so badly. PAWS is not a life sentence though, keep that in mind when you read about it.
IF you are still in withdrawal, try to exercise like mad, even if it's just walking (if you are physically able) to boost your endorphins. It will really help.
If you call doctors offices about your pain meds, they will NEVER accept you. You need to see a pain management doc. Just make the appointment and do NOT mention your meds while making the appointment.
When you are in your new doctors office, just tell her/him what you were taking before your other doctor left you high and dry. You may be prescribed what you were on before. But do NOT ask for it, that is a sure way of not getting what you need, IF you are a chronic pain patient.
Best wishes to you, and force yourself to be a good mom, a fake it 'til you make it kind of thing. It can be done, if I did it, anyone can!!
Good luck

I think it's illegal for your doctor to do this!! I would report him to the Medical board! They can't just leave you hanging without giving you referrals to other doctors to follow up on your medical care, especially if you are on meds that can't be cut off and cause withdrawal! I am so sorry that you had to go through this and are still going through this! Have you tried to get your records from them? I wish you luck and hope that you find a new doctor soon. I have seen the other posts on here and I really can't offer any advice different from them about trying to find another doctor, I live in Maryland so I don't know how Oklahoma laws work when it comes to this, but I do hope that things work out for you soon.
