HartterStarted taking this medicene, and it is completely messing me up! I want it out of my body, and want to know how long it will take to be gone completely!
Seroquel XR - If you stop taking this medication, how long does it take to get out of your system?

I took Seroquel for a litle over a month and stopped because it was destroying my ability to work. (thinking too slow, sleeping too much) It took at least five solid days without it before I regained clarity. I think it stays in your system affecting you for days or weeks for certain. I've been off it now about a month and think it might still be wearing off!!!

I can't understand why Seroquel is prescribed for sleep problems. I take 700mg daily and it doesn't make me sleepy at all. In answer to your question, Seroquel should be reduced slowly or you will suffer withdrawl problems.
Are you kidding me lol... I have been on seroquel xr 50mg and it kicks my butt... Puts me to sleep with in two hours and it takes all I have to get up in the morning. I really dont like this med. too many side effects, I myself am trying to get off.
your dr. help you off this med. ... if you have not been on it along time... you should be able w/dr. help be off in short time... for me i have been on 300mg for 5 yrs. w/no problems ... only if i miss a dose i do get withdrawel feelings but they are gone as soon as i take the dosage... good luck
I lived through Kartina, and have been told it caused me to have post tramatic distress disorder. My body spasms , in my vocal cords down in to my esophogas, I have a startle reflex and am indeed depressed. Every three months I get a Botox injection by an ENT. Which has been helpful with the spasms, but I know I also need an antidepressant. The Serquel puts me to sleep witn in one hour, and than when I do awaken , I am sluggish both mentally ans well as physically. I am searching for another answer.
I take it to help me sleep and it works but I'm so tired all the time.
what are the withdrawal problems? i have recently been taking serequol xr for about 3 years. i think i am currently pregnant but i cannot tell my health care provider. i stopped taking the medication for one night so far and i cannot i have not slept all night. i have heat flashes. i feel like throwing up. is it bad to stop completley. will it be bad or will it go away in time? i need help. anyone have advice?
Have you found another sleep aid, I have been on it for 7 yrs, and it makes me nervous to be on any drug for that long. I want to get off of it, trazadone does not work for me and melatonin makes me itch for hrs!
I have been on it for 4 days, and have a newborn. I'm also on tryleptol and bupropion. After being up all night with the baby, I started to want to hurt her, and had a psychotic dream. I woke up feeling angry, and very scared of the agitation/violent thoughts. I also was sweating a lot through the night. I can't reach my doctor, but I stopped taking seroquel last night. I'm heavily depressed today, but I'm hoping that those awful thoughts don't return. I really do believe it was from the seroquel (they made my brother psychotic also). Anyone have these effects?
