You will see that it is prescribed for mental illnesses such as schizophrenia and depression. It is not recommended for elderly patients that suffer from dementia. As long as she is following her doctor's orders, don't believe you have any worries.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I think she takes more than prescribed. She sleeps far too much. I have a friend who is taking chemo for breast cancer and she has more energy than my mother. My concern, as well as my sisters, is that our mother is getting a bit strange.
My sister is very educated on medications, she's the one who brought it to my attention. Seroquel mixed with Xanax (which she's been taking for 10 years) plus her estrogen and Zantac must have some negative affects when mixed.
