The efficacy of S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine (commonly called ademethionine) has not been scientifically proved in several disorders for which it is suggested i.e. depression, osteoarthritis and liver disorders. Therefore it is marketed in a very few countries. It is not approved for use in India. It is available in Italy (under the brand name of Donamet) and Germany (under the brand name of Gumbaral).
