Hello johngo. Restoril is a benzodiazepine, and its prescribed to help you sleep. It can be used as a knockout drug, when added to any number of drinks, be they alcohol or soda. They if used on thier own, will make a person sleepy, and that is usually followed by a deep sleep. Restoril if taken alone as it should be, can be very habit forming. Best of wishes to you, and good health, pledge
