Regular seroquel was working great. Seroquel xr makes me feel like a zombie. Will this pass? Had a nurse practitioner threaten me to be off of xanax totally in a month. No weaning off. Said if I take a xanax , I better be in the damn hospital. I took that as threat. Is that proper treatment and can she prescribe seroquel xr? From what I've found it should be a psych dr and the need to make the bipolar diagnoses. Very confused and need some help

Angigail45... i was on regular seroqeul & did great. Then my physctrist put me on the xr
.much like you the next day i was zombie as well. If i couldnt get the sleep out i was extremely cranky & very ill mood. So my pshyctrist put me bk on regular seroqeul. So far its been better. I dont like the way your NP handled that. I agree find a doctor or a physctrist. Good luck!

I would find a psychiatist immediately, u should not have to be treated with such disrespect, and in my opinion don't no what your situation is, but they are suppose to wean u off xanax, I tried to wean myself one time and well lets just say I landed in the er... they can't do that to u, stop u cold turkey without weaning u from xanax... but in my opinion xanax or no xanax wouldn't want to be at a place were I was treated with such ignorance... good luck... angel1662

To answer your question, Can A nurse practitioner prescribe Seroquel XR or Seroquel. Yes she can. My doctor and NP, both at the same clinic have prescribed it to me. To the best of my knowledge, a NP can prescribe any nonnarcotic drug without the permission of an MD first. What do u mean she threatened to you to be off the Xanax? How long have you been on Xanax? I am also on Xanax too but since starting the Seroquel XR, I rarely find myself needing to take one. As far the zombie hangover effect, yes it will pass after about a week. It gets a lil better everyday. It is possible your NP might need some Seroquel herself if she is being this rude and moody to you. Lol. I hope this helps you at least a little bit. Give the XR a chance, but not over a week. If your still feeling zombie after 7days you should tell your doctor you want to switch back. BTW, If it was working so well, why in the world would they change it. Seems kinda dumb to me. -FemaleSeekingAdvice
Maybe you could answer the question I posted earlier, as you have been on the Seroquel longer than I have. How do I know when my dosage should be increased?
