Psoriatic Arthritis - any advice for dealing with the pain and side effects from methotrexate?

Hi kelly; All I can tell you is what I did .I asked, in drugs.com if anyone who had used metho. had anything good to say about it. I got 3 answers, "It's awful bad stuff"... "No , and i'll never do it again"... "Metho. put me in the hospital but once there, I had some nurses who really new how to care for me and I was ok. Personally, I studied it a lot Internet, wikipedia, and other. What I got was it made a lot of new dead people... 2 black box warnings, 1958 & 1976, Errors kill... It works but there's better and safer stuff out there... Methinks it must be, in some way, a Big-Pharma money maker ! Sacosam

Wow, Sarcasmo thats scary, all I know is that my son was diagnoised with JRA at a point when he stopped walking all together for 6 months and he was in constant pain, with in a month of taking metho the pain was gone and he kept telling us he wanted to walk again after only wanting to lay in bed and being scared to move. Without metho I don't know where he'd be with his pain and if he'd be up and running around like a normal 5 year old. But I guess not all meds can work for everyone, thats why its good to look into the good and bad side of each med so you know what to expect in case of the worst happening.
