Telogen effluvium is the typical form of hair loss that psoriasis induces, but sometimes psoriasis can cause a scarring alopecia. While psoriasis induced telogen effluvium is fully reversible with successful treatment, the psoriasis induced scarring alopecia is a permanent form of hair loss.
