My son just got home from the hospital and his sister brought him home. I couldn't get the chance to speak to the doctor. And the doctor has prescribed promethazine for him for light sedation. However, I know that promethazine can be used rectally as well as orally. How do I know if this specific bottle of promethazine is for oral administration or rectal administration. How can I tell?

If it's a tablet it should also be given orally ... sorry I didn't clarify the tablet. The active ingredient from the tablet won't be absorbed if given rectally. Only suppository is given rectally.
