My son has 12 Q-Profens that were not prescribed to him by a dr. They are in a pill bottle that belonged to someone else. I believe he either paid for them "on the street" or a "friend" gave them to him. He is addicted to opiates and we thought he had withdrawn. I don't know what to do.

Thank you. My son is 29, does not have medical insurance. He has withdrawn from addiction to opiates since January 2012. He does drink alcohol, although he has admitted he shouldn't. He smokes cigarettes. He moved back in with us (parents) and is having difficulty getting a job (he has a BS in Elementary Education. I'm worried he is relapsing, or getting near to it. Just wondering if I should make much a big deal about the Q-Profin.
I think I would ask him if he had pain or something that he has it. He could use a counselor to talk to or an AA group to help him stay off of the substances.
