It sounds as though your son has a nasty virus or is developing asthma. I assume he has seen a doctor because of the medicines he is taking? Is the salbutamol helping? A dry cough is often the first sign of asthma.
If the salbutamol does not help make sure your son drinks plenty of water (a bottle of water at night is useful to stop the cough) and is well fed, warm and rested - this will help his body fight the virus. Honey and lemon drinks are also soothing for his irritated throat. Continue to see his doctor if his symptoms persist. All the best.
