I recently started taking phentermine two weeks ago at a weight of 241 and have lost 11pounds, weighing 230 lbs. My goal is to lose 40 pounds by May 5th 2013 for my graduation. I seem to not have a appetite. I probably consume 500-800 calories per day. I work out 4-5 times a work for 3 hours a day. What is a faster way for me to lose the weight by my date I've chosen.

I am not a dietician. M/60 I have been on 30mg Phentermine since Jan 15 2013 trying to lose 15 pounds; I lost 30! I didn't want to lose 30. I went from 186 to 155.
I was consuming 800-1000 calories per day working out 4-5 times a week high intensity cardio & very light weights 5/8lbs a lot of reps.
I cut out 'wheat' with gluten, eat Ezekiel Bread for grain; good stuff. I cut out 95% of all processed foods, junk foods- potato chips,candy, ice cream, bakery items, sugar, high frutose corn syrup HFCS, pasta... the worst of all is Splenda(suculose) which has a chemical resmblance to DDT an insectaside and cut out all artificial sweetners, cut out soda, juices, diet ice tea etc...
I eat protein: eggs, chicken, turkey, hamburger 92% lean, peanut butter: not deli garbage- I will take my chances on the meat in the meat department.
Raw vegetables to include brocoli, cauiflower, green leafy stuff: if I have a salad I use virgin olive oil & vinegar... not the bottled junk they sell on the supermarket shelves... too much sugar & HFCS...
My doctor told me cut out the "garbage" carbs, the brain needs carbs so don't go cold turkey on carbs, all foods especially fresh fruit has carbs & sucrose (sugar) that's good for humans.
The weight isn't graduating, you are. Yes, continue slowly to lose weight for your good health. Remember that Diploma won't have 241lbs or 231lbs name on it... it will be your name, you earned it, congratulations!

Hello Skillet. I am not a dietican. Phentermine is meant to be taken for the short term. Two, not more than three weeks is the recommendation. The longer taking the dsrug, the less effective it is. Reason that the bodys metabolism, builds up a tolerance, immunity to the drug. And the physical risks to the heart and blood pressure issues are increased. Regards pledge
