I'd say it wouldn't necessarily be as effective if you only took it a few times a month. I deal with acid reflux everyday; i've had it for years now. If you take it only a few times a month then it would take a longer time to get your body used to it. It would be like taking an antibiotic when you pleased, it would be in your system, but not nearly as effective unless you take it as directed. Try to eat less red foods, sauces, anything greasy, and anything spicy. Those are a couple of main triggers for indigestion. I still like to eat that stuff, but i've finally learned to cut back on them lol. And if you drink more water, this will help your body to flush out some of this acid as well.

Pepcid AC is used to relieve heartburn symptoms associated with indigestion. It also can be used to prevent the heartburn symptoms when you eat or drink something known to trigger your discomfort.
You can take Pepcid AC on an "as needed" basis if your symptoms are mild.
