I had Hep c and was given Interferon fon 6 months and was in a complete mess after 12 weeks, I was given Diazepam 10mg daily and Citalopram as an anti-depressent but I couldn't get off the Citalopram for three years so I would seriously think hard about going on them, try to stay with it if you can. good Luck. AK

Peginterferon alfa-2b may cause mental or mood problems. The risk may be greater if you have a history of mental or mood problems, suicidal thoughts or actions, or addiction to alcohol or another substance. Contact your doctor at once if you experience new or worsened depression; aggressive, restless, or irritable behavior; thoughts of hurting another person; or any unusual change in mood or behavior. Contact your doctor at once if you experience suicidal thoughts or actions.

These effects may be decreased if you use Peginterferon alfa-2b at bedtime or take a nonprescription pain and fever reducer (eg, acetaminophen, ibuprofen). Check with your doctor if these effects persist or are severe.

If this don't work tell your Doctor you need different med. or pain reliever.
