Pain contract terminated for No good reason?

i had a problem with a pain clinic a year ago and wanted to change so when i did they tried to make me look like a drug addict while i was in the new doctors office he called the old clinic they said terrible things about me THEY WERE NOT TRUE the new doctor said he would take me on trial to prove myself i did only what he said only got davocet-n-100 2 aday and lyrica 150mg a day thank goodness i still had my shrink(which he knew about they would talk and compare notes ) i also took all the injections he reccommended and never asked for anything extra now a year later he trust me and i get stonger meds the injections when i need them and we have a very good relationship but one office tried to burn me and it has taken a long time to get my good name back after he received my records (8)months later i believe he took my side of things but still we have that paient doctor relationship and the contract that so many of the doctors ask for.i am sorry you were terminated hopefully you ...

can find a more qualified doctor to handle your pain management and will treat you with the respect you so deserve as i did. missy

i had the same thing happen to me . only someone called my dr told a lie and the dr went as far as lying about me not having anything in my system to protect herself . i talked to a lawyer and he said the dea is making it hard on all drs are protectong theirselfs they dont care about the paicents just their licens . i got another dr . i see it everyday where im from the druggies and dealers get what ever drugs they want and i have cronic pain have been in pain for 10 years and i go to the dr and get a run around . i am very quite and backwards drs scare me because they are the ones in controle weater i am able to get up and be in less pain . but i found a new pain dr and i was honest and told her what happend she said it is a shame alot of people have cron ic pain and thye are teated like addicts just because of some people abusing the right to get pain meds . dont give up get your records and ask your family dr for help mine was great help getting my records and mris for me .

their is a stop discrimination against pain pacients . go there sign to get help befor none of us are able to get pain meds .
sorrry to ramble on but i wake up in pain go to bed in pain till my new dr gets my meds to where they help . and im tired of watching the people abusing the rights to get apin meds when they dont have pain .

Some "person" if that's what I'll call him who was mad because I wouldn't give him any of my morphine so he made a call without giving his name saying I was abusing my medication,and I was cut off!!! I had had a C-1 to C-2 fussion to fix a broken neck that was broke at those two vertabrae,so there was obvious real pain,but between a ball breaking pain doctor who was looking for a reason to get rid of me right from the start.as a matter of fact the first day I saw her she asked me if I could cut my dose of 6 five mg oxycodone I.R (which wasn't working to start with) to four,I knew I was in trouble! The second problem I had was a cocky neurosurgeon who no matter how much I told him something wasn't right with my neck just blew it off! Well I worked for the University of Wisconsin for five years at that point & even though I had income continuation insurance I went back to work as soon as the doctor said it was safe(not collecting even one check from the I.C.I) but working there like alot of places you can only change your health care provider once a year,but when I was finaly able to I went to this spine clinic & they didn't even have to do a M.R.I,just a x-ray to see that the original operation was shot & needed to be done over,actully when I asked the surgeon if the original screw would have to come out he said if I didn't have skin over it,it would fall out,which meant all that time that that quack told me I was fine & I was out biking & doing other things that could have left me paralized(or dead since it was the very top vertabrae & no signals my brain sent to my lungs,heart,& other organs getting there) it just had me steamed!!! when the new surgeon did the operation he found there was a major infection in my C-1,C-2 vertabrae,I wonder how that happend? I'm being sarcastic of course. I'm not one of those people who are sue happy,but if I wouldn't have had to wait so long just to get my neck fixed & that doctor was such an ass I would have taken him for a bundle!! I had to have a pic line & a constant anti-biotic feed from this machine I had to wear for six weeks,and 4 new screws in my neck. But when I got my new primary care doctor I was honest with her,even the fact that I used to have an alcohol problem,I know what alot of these A.A people are thinking, you will allways have a alcohol problem & I used to believe that but I do not,& I don't care how many of these people say I'm wrong,I'M NOT!!! my alcohol usage stemed from having 3,count em 3 BEST FRIENDS DIE. I'm noy talking about long illnesses,I'm talking about I wake up the next day & there dead!!! No time to get ready to deal with them not being there,just here today gone tommorow. Only one even had to do with alcohol or drugs & after he died ,I stopped because at that time I was drinking 2/3 of liter of vodka a day,the only reason I didn't drink it all was I needed something to chase away the shakes in the morning,now I can buy a 4 pack of Sparks & have one left in the morning & I'm not saying that my way will work for everybody or anybody for that matter,but it did for me. Anyway like I said I was honest with her & I've been on what started as 100mg M.S Contin & Dilaudid,which I found worked better than the morphine but I had to take it more because in the US they don't offer the long acting Paladone or Dilaudid Contin like they do in Canada & G.B. What the main problem is that there is no standard,some doctors aren't afraid to write the meds that are in reality nesesar,where others won't ,there needs to be some kind of standard. I take 8 8mg Dilaudid a day,I don't get "high" & some days not even complete pain relief. I hope u find a do for who is not afraid to write the correct drugs without fear,my doctor has none so why do these others? Good luck.

OH MY GOSH, I THINK I JUST WROTE MY FIRST BOOK. SERIOUSLY SORRY SO LONG... The drug addicts, doctor shopping and so fourth is what is hurting everyone of us that have acute and chronic pain. My cousin told me about a women she knew years ago that would go to a doctor in tennessee for hydros, then in mississippi for the same thing. She told me the women never took a one of them, she would sell them all. It makes me sick to my stomach!!! These are people that you wish would all at once get severe pain and have no medication to take.(sorry i know that is harsh).

My ex-husband of 6 years ago was very abusive verbally and physically and when I finally got the nerve to end it (even if I had to go to extreme measures for my safety), I did. He called human services on me to get revenge and told them I was taking drugs. They came to my home, she followed me to my room where I keep my medications and I showed her the prscriptions and she counted every pill in each of my bottles. What pissed me off is when I found out that they had questioned my daughter at school without my knowlege. She was young and thought she was gona be taken away from her mama. The lady told me she would be back in a month to check everything out again but she never came. I am on lots of medication that would be a hay-day for an addict or great money for a seller.
Because at the very moment I had every pill accounted for, his little joke back fired. But if for some reason they weren't all there even if I had dropped a pill in my car (which I have) it would have hurt me from getting the meds I needed. If you ask me, he doesn't know very much or he would have tappered you off the meds not stop at once which can cause some major side effects. Get a copy of your records and if you know anyone or have a friend that knows someone in the medical field to review them that way they can help you know how to approach a new doctor. I am sorry you are dealing with this.
Because the doctor is not getting any more insurance payments on you for time alloted for your type of surgery may have been his reason but still no excuse to treat anyone like that.

After reading your question and the great responses from all I just broke down and cried for an hour... some tears for my pain most for what we all, meaning suffering people not the theives who make our suffering worse than it should be. This country prides itself on being humane and for trying to do the right thing. Sure there are Doctors who unkowingly or knowingly hand out prescription after prescription to people who sell them to the highest bidder. But we the people who go through excruciating pain that would make the most hardened CIA operative sing like a canary cannot find relief just because of these jerks that sell there prescriptions.

From my point of view these people not only hurt the patients who can't get appropriate medications to alliviate there suffering to the people who take these meds on a recreational basis and some die from overdose from meds that they should not be taking, makes me think and realize that the real problem is not the suffering patients or the ones that sell there prescriptions. IT, THE REAL PROBLEM IS WITH THE DOCTORS... If a Doctor cannot descriminate between the thousands of suffering people, from the abusers, then they have failed the most sacred oath of do no harm. If I can see the obvious difference between real pain and fake pain, then why can't the Doctors??? This problem must be solved! I am blessed to be with a Pain management specialist now.who can see and understand empathicley with his patients(my back just froze with extreme spasms while I was in his office and he immediatly put me in his rooms and gave me multiple injections at and in the muscles mostly on the left side, I GOT RELIEF.
Several years back soon after the auto crash that started me on this path of pain both physically and mentally. I was at a pain clinic that had me sign a "contract". The dr started those injections with a steriod. The first one went horribly wrong. He tried to inject me in my neck(he must not have read that encyclopedia that was my chart, I have moderate to severe cervical stenosis which means my spinal chord is being squezzed by the bones of the vertabrae). My whole body for a better way of describeing it, spasmed. It was like a charley horse but every muscle in my body contracted. I could taste the needle (metallic) the closer it got to my spinal chord. The procedure had to be stopped and the Dr and Nurses were really afraid. My blood pressure shot up to the stratosphere, I got the tremors and they had me lay down untill my numbers returned to "normal". Susequent injections were done with me under anesthesia. The only benefit I got from those costly procedures was a little bit less pain for a couple of weeks. Well this Dr released me after my second urine sample showed thc. Gave no reason just goodbye. When the pain got really bad I would just go to emergency room for some relief. Please accept my apology for going on like this I just have to tell someone. I have no significant other and... well I think you understand. It is a shame that anybody should be suffering so when there are medications that whentaken correctly really help. I think that even though your mind is trying to deal with your injury and pain we still must go through the difficult process of finding a dr who not only must have the schooling but also understands what the patients are going through.

My Dr.I had, was treating me,I was referred there by a fellow patient who was approximatly 40 and at the time I was 47 and was having this severe and escruciating feet/leg pain? I went to see her Dr. and immediatly was put on 15 mg oxycodone where she was on 5 mg and was angry. She came to my house often and eventualy I realized my pain pills were coing up short (she was stealing them) I told the Dr.s office and they got aangry, when confronting the female , I was in custody court for my child and her answer was " she's short bbecause she SELLS them" this info hit the court putting me with my 15 year ol;d child on supervised (bu mom who I live with) for duration of his visits till he's 18) I had this in black and white and showed her, naturally she DENIED it! They then decided neither of us were wanted in their care and I was on 189 30 mg of oxycodone for neuralgia of necxk and back and occipipital are from which I get shots for to reduce pain..

fibromyalgia, and the worst case of neuropathy youv ever seen. I get 84 every 2 weeks from my new Dr. and in this town I have the same problems although I am squeaky clean with my meds, I never run low or OUT! and I will not lend to this particlar girl/woman who got my Dr's name off my bottle evna tho I was at the time magic marking black off all my bottles if someone came through as I liverd in the projects she got it. Next thing I knowe shes seeing him... getting 15 mg oxycodones and between her and her son for 5 pills a day times 14 dys she ran out and was asking me to borrow mine>??? I'm sorry this is lenghthy but it entails alot..she is now 45 with NO NONE NOT any diagnosis and she's getting these pills for nothing but being a drug addict and he gives her methadone as well. I get 84 3o mg everyu 2 weeks as I have multible REAL extremly omg painful issues, where I'll be getting a handi cap tag. I Me am a mess and I'm getting worse and the winters worse..I just want to say that I know she ran out in 4 days this last time and was supposedly told when she goes the same day as me that she was shut off, as we did urines yesterday and mine woulod be fine as well ss I had 3 pills left for yesterday taking me till 4 pm and she was out a week and a half ago! I believe if they urined her as myself they would have foujnd pot suboxine mabe cocaine and she would have caused herself to "break" jher contract and she claims nothing about her urine as we all got one after the holiday and she claims because she owkes some to other ppl that theuy gave her no prescription and I'm affled... can a Dr. just cut you off COLD TURKEY as if if it ever happened to me which I see no reasoon why but ethically can they just dtop a persons meds I;m dying to know this answer... thankyou shelly
