I also take opana which seems to have more relaxing effect on me. I take the opana er and the roxicodone for b/t pain. I have had 4 surgeries,2 on my left and 2 on my right shoulder, even so I still have terrible pain in both. Opana makes me drowsy and I wondered if there was an extended release form of roxicodone?
Oxycodone - Roxicodone seems to have a stimulant effect on me,is this a normal reaction?

Thanks sweet,I will definately ask my doctor about the ER roxicodone,do you happen to know what mg they come in? I presently take 30 mg every 4 to 6 hours for b/t pain but it would be nice to be able to take a extended release during the day.
Hi again Jeffrey, no I do not know Roxi mgs. If you go above, blue bar, Drugs A to Z, and enter roxicodone into the search engine you can find out!
Good luck!!

Narcotics have a stimulating effect on many people. I remember when I was taking 15-20/day I could stay up half th night... a very speedy effect. I have heard this from so many people. Now... if I took it for real pain and took it at night or even n the day for that matter... it would then have a sedative effect... go figure!!
So neither one of u r abnormal!!!
Have a good one... Pup
good to know that i am not the only one.Is there a opiate that is opposite of this effect??Just wondering...
no not strange I have the same effect as well.If you are on a high dose opiates can make you do that.

Try asking for Methocarbamol for your shoulders. But continue taking the pain med's as described. The Methocarbamol made a huge difference on that particular area for me. My stomach couldn't handle all the med's plus the Ibuprofen and stopped taking Ibuprofen regularly, but once in a while still when they hurt badly I do and whal-lah, felt much better within days. Not habit forming as a bonus. I recently have a friend that had his rotor-cuff along with some other ligament damage done and was taking it, plus other med's, prior to the surgery and loved it, but the damage was too great, hence surgery. The extended-time-release formula is very expensive(Last I called to check $500.00 at 30 day count but works without questions) as they bought all the generic right is Oxycontin. I had my monthly doc visit today and changed my pain med's from Vicoprofen or Hydrocodone w/Ibuprofen & Methadone 10mg to Oxycodone 15mg which is the generic of Roxicodone.
CORRECTION: I MADE SOME DUMB MISTAKE THERE WITH THE OF IBUPROFEN AND IN WHICH I SHOULD HAVE USED METHOCARBAMOL USAGES. SO IF COME ACROSS DOUBLE NEGATIVES THAT MAKE NO SENSE, USE THE METHOCARBAMOL INSTEAD, Sorry, firsttime user plus I hate pain, so cut me a little slack please, alright - alright?

Thanks Laurie, I don't mind the opana it really works although I try to take it in the evenings because of the sedative effect. It helps to know that the roxicodone has that same effect on you,I thought maybe I was just imagining it, thanks again.
