Oxycodone - How long will the side effects last after stopping the drug?

Hey suzie,

Depending on how much he has been taking daily and the fact that oxycodone is a short acting drug, he should not experience side effects after 24 to 48 hours. That being said, if he has been on the medication for a while then he may exerience withdrawal symptoms which could last several days to a week or so. If he has been on the oxycodone for an extended amount of time, he will need to taper his dose not stop abruptly so to avoid withdrawals.

He is on a very small does, how many times a day is he taking it, it goes through your system very quick and should not have many problems with withdrawls.

It'll pass within 36 or 48 hours after he stops taking the drug... It's an effective painkiller, but do not let him drive the car... My husband wrote off our car while under the influence on a really short journey, at 20 m.p.h!!! He'll be fine
