Hey Nikki,
so you are coming off the oxymorphone? Good for you! Did you doc tell you that you need to be in pretty heavy withdrawl to start the suboxone? Wait until the diahhrea and big pupils, and anxiety are in full effect. If this is your first time feeling withdrawl then you might not feel as bad as your next withdrawl in my expierence each successive withdrawl is markedly worse and worse. So depending on your metabolism and the half life of the opana then you will need to wait for the full blown symptoms or else you will make yourself sicker than you have ever felt. Trust us on here when we say that taking the subs to early will cause precipitated withdrawl which is unnecessary if you are patient enough.(Patience is hard to come by in full opiate withdrwal) M suggetion to you do not follow your prescription. start small like 1 mg and wait two hours to see how you feel because if you have a slow metabolism you coud still have opiates left in your system and then you get thrown into withdrawl worse by taking the suboxone. Let us know how you are doing a lot of people here know what you are going thru and can help you a lot. Please try to find a clinical opiate withdrawl sheet on the internet and score yourself when you are scoring over 26 take a 1 mg of the subs and wait an hour and a half to two hours and see how you feel. God bless you try and keep your mind occupied don't be like me and look up pictures of poppy plants on the internet it's bad to obsess. Good Luck to you! You can do it!
So now you have a dr telling you to take suboxone four times a day? That is absolutely the WRONG way to dispense suboxone. Where are you finding these drs? If you want my help let me know. I do this every day. Here is a link that shows how I suggest using suboxone. Hope it helps. Let me know what I can do to help you. God bless.

I did read your website and it said to start with 2mg i believe and then wait 1 hour to see how you feel. if i needed to take more (you said no more than 8 mg (drawing from memory here, sorry if misquote)) then its ok? up to four times approx.? isn't that the same as what i am prescribed? thank you for taking an interest in me, believe me, i really appreciate it. i am really scared and feel so alone (i'm really not though, just feel that way). my question is; with the dose i was taking of opana:40mg/day, WILL i have all those horrible withdrawal symptoms? thought maybe just for people who took tons of opiates? thank you so much, will wait to hear.
also, it has been about 16 hours since my last dose of opana but it was a half dose (10mg)
The time isn't the main thing of importance here. It's the severity of your w/d symptoms that matter. Here is a link for the COWS (clinical opioid w/d scale) worksheet. Once you reach a 26 accumulative score you're ready to begin the induction. You may be ready in 16 hours, you may be ready in 36 hours. My point being it's the score that matters, not the clock. Hope that helps make it more simple. I can help you with the induction. We do them all the time on the drugs.com forum. Check out the sub threads there. You'll see what I'm talking about. Ask around the forum, the plan I've described works PERIOD. God bless.
I just wanted to be clear on the fact that i will indeed have all those symptoms listed. thought maybe different symptoms for different amount of dependencies. why could it take 36 hours, is that normal? i am just freaked out and scared, sorry to pain you with more questions! doc never told me these things and he's supposed to be best around for addiction! i am so confused. thanks again.
Here is the COWS worksheet. If you start the induction prior to being an honest 26 you will go into precipitated w/d and be sicker than you can imagine. If you want me to help you I can help you do the induction perfectly. Let me know. God bless.

I'm sorry but what do you mean my "next withdrawal"? i am clueless to all this. i was on kadian once for several years but decided to wean myself off. opened the capsules and counted out the little beads. went down about 5 beads a week. it took awhile but awesome, absolutely no withdrawal. that is the only other experience i ever had with potential withdrawal! also, i was questioning how much opiate must you have been taking to have such bad withdrawal symptoms? i was taking 40 mg/day of opana. its been about 14 hours since my last dose, which was 1/2 dose (10 mg). still just very anxious, nothing else. thanks for caring!
