... problem and seems to be working. so, time to go off of the opana. went to an addiction dr. since my pcp who prescribed opana seems clueless to the weaning problem. i am to start taking suboxone today after going into moderate withdrawal. i was taking 40 mg of opana a day and am supposed to take 2mg of sub four times a day. so far am anxious and nervous. i am about 6 hrs past time to take opana. can someone tell me how long i have to wait? did read the opiod withdrawal form. am i really going to have all those symptoms? so far after 6 hours just the nervous, anxiousness. can anyone advise me?? thank you.

So now you have a dr telling you to take suboxone four times a day? That is absolutely the WRONG way to dispense suboxone. Where are you finding these drs? If you want my help let me know. I did read your website and it said to start with 2mg i believe and then wait 1 hour to see how you feel. if i needed to take more (you said no more than 8 mg (drawing from memory here, sorry if misquote)) then its ok? up to four times approx.? isn't that the same as what i am prescribed? thank you for taking an interest in me, believe me, i really appreciate it. i am really scared and feel so alone (i'm really not though, just feel that way). my question is; with the dose i was taking of opana:40mg/day, WILL i have all those horrible withdrawal symptoms? thought maybe just for people who took tons of opiates? thank you so much, will wait to hear.

also, it has been about 16 hours since my last dose of opana but it was a half dose (10mg)

Nikkisue, how did it go? I was on OpanaER 10mg 2x a day for 18 months and had horrendous withdrawals. I never abused the drug, took it only as prescribed. After my surgery I went back to my PM and discussed weaning me off, they prescribed 5mg 2x a day for 5 days, then 5mg 1x a day for 5 days and then nothing. It has been hell! They weaned me off way to quickly. I've been trying to find something a website that would indicate what a more appropriate length of time would have been. All I know is that cigarette smokers don't typically stop in 10 days, it is much more gradual. I cannot imagine such a strong opiate would take less time than cigarettes.
How are you doing now? How long did you go through withdrawals? I am on my 13th day of weaning. Today is my 3rd day with nothing. The past two times I dropped dosage over the last 10 days the 3rd day was the worst. I want to die! The kicker is I have 3 weeks worth of 10mg in my medicine cabinet but I refuse to start over. But I admit to being tempted just so I could get some sleep.

Hey, I am sorry your having a ruff time I know all about it. I am on Opana Er 30mg tib 3 times a day actually I high dose considering that most DR will not give it buy 2 times a day. This month I told myself I will not go into w/d my body just can't handle it any more. So, I have been taking around 4 a day then when I realized I was getting low I said I have to make 1 a day do me. Well, I have done that for 4 days now and around 4 pm I seem to go into slight w/d . Now the bad thing is I got into them to help a friend out. Now I have only a half of one for each day 15mg . Tomorrow will be the test my first day with only a half. I pray to god that it will work out. I mean it's better than not having anything and going into full blown w/d . I say I will experience some w/d . But I don't think it will be all that bad.

I'm sorry but what do you mean my "next withdrawal"? i am clueless to all this. i was on kadian once for several years but decided to wean myself off. opened the capsules and counted out the little beads. went down about 5 beads a week. it took awhile but awesome, absolutely no withdrawal. that is the only other experience i ever had with potential withdrawal! also, i was questioning how much opiate must you have been taking to have such bad withdrawal symptoms? i was taking 40 mg/day of opana. its been about 14 hours since my last dose, which was 1/2 dose (10 mg). still just very anxious, nothing else. thanks for caring!
