Tramadol, the active ingredient in ultram and ultracette, is in no way structurally related to hydromorphone (the metabolite indicative of vicodin use). So ultram isn't the problem. Oxymorphone is a minor metabolite of oxycodone, and is the chemical tested for. Oxymorphone and hydromorphone have a vary similar structure, and is likely the result. The dosages you mentioned seem to have more of a tendancy to cause false positives, especially for hydromorphone. It's uncommon, but not unheard of. If you have been at that dose for a while, it increases the chances exponentially. It's unlikely, even rare, yes. It is, however, the plausible causation. Many urine tests have hydrocodone/oxycodone in the same spot on the test, since they won't show up under the codiene/morphine/heroin opiate spot that is so common on the 5 panel tests.

Anyway I hope everything works out for you, many pain management doctors use tests that simply test for morphine and its parental agents, which doesn't show oxycodone or hydrocodone. The result is many of the patients taking these medications are suspected of not taking their medicine. This of course leads to doctors dropping patients for fear of opiate diversion. Sorry for the extra info, hope this is of some help.
