L_Berg... use prior to a paranoid onset brought on by Bath salts useage.
Daughter takes olazapine and insists on percocet use for back pain. I notice severe changes during these times and try to deter the percocet use. I think the two do not agree with eachother in this situation.. Any insight or info very much appreciated

I am really surprised your daughter is using this drug. I am enclosing a link for you to read about it. It usually is not used for children, but then you did not mention your daughters age. I did not see any problem with taking percocet, but it is highly addictive & she should not be taking itunless she has chontic pain by a doctors orders. Does her docctor know she is using percocet all the time? I would be more worried about it becoming an addiction problem. Just my thoughts...

Perccet is not just used,if fact rarely used for chronic pain. Long acting drugs like M.S Contin,Oxycontin(which is oxcycodone but in a time release formula,Opana E.R all those are used for chronic pain & NOT recommended for pain that is not expected to last. Percocet are used for pain that is not constant like after you had a tooth pulled or broke your arm ect. If she is using for pain when she's in pain then there shouldn't be a problem(unless she says she's in pain 24/7 & if she is should see a chronic pain doctor. Now the bath salts is a different story because kids & I'm sure some adults "smoke" them for a "high" which smoking bath salts kinda shows she out for a high which may be the same reason she's taking the perks,& by the way if she's taking a lot & they very from 325-660 mg of tylonol which in a lot of cases is worse than the oxycodone(drug that actully gets you "high" but the tylonol is HELL on your liver. Hope this helps.

I guess I should have mentioned that she is 28 yrs old. The Bath salt incident was a rareity I am told which I believe but the percocets have been used for 6 years Ive learned, 325 mg. 160 of them a month. I had no idea that some people function normally on drugs of this nature. Anything like this would put me to sleep immediately- which is why I never knew that she used them like this. Her husband and I are attempting to ween her off them while continueing the olanzapine. We both believe that the percocets cancel out the affects of the olanzapine.. A real rollar coaster ride and very scary I might add. She cannot be taken off the percocets all at once., yet the little we allow her seems to have such adverse affects on her recovery. I appreciate the advice and opinions Ive been given. Thank you.
