Ocular Herpes Simplex Has anyone tried Lysine supplements and noticed a reduction in outbreaks?

I dont know about ocular herpes but for herpes simplex, I know a number of people who swear that taking a Lysine supplement daily prevents breakouts. I tried it and it did not work for me. I get breakouts on my mouth if I get a temp over 99F or if I'm real stressed. It is worth a try and maybe you will be one of the lucky ones that it works for!

I don't know about the Ocular (I am not helpful and I am sorry) But I have heard over and over about how well the Lysine works for herpes simplex, have you discussed this with the doctor? It might be a good idea since the outbreaks are so frequent. I would love to know what the doctor has to say if you could just keep us posted.
My 93 y/o mom who kept having one stye after the other as soon as one would clear up she would be back to his office (the eye doctor) he told her to try using baby shampoo, once he got her over the last episode with the topical and oral antibiotics and she used the baby shampoo (once she was completely over it) that broke the cycle, she was back in for a check up and he told her he helped unplug the oil glands, that is as close to the Ocular Herpes simplex as I have come. again I am so sorry.

Hi, I have never tried Lysine, but I do take an overdose of Zinc in tablets like 1500 mg every time I feel an outbreak is coming. But you have to take them inmediately you feel the first symptom. Try it! I hope it work for you as it works for me!!
