New to this board, long time insomniac. I take Ambien oral 10mg every night. Losing it's?

welcome icephantom, i too have insomnia, mines is due to a opiate taper im on so as you can say, my brain and body is in crash and burn mode. for my insomnia i take 1 mg xanax if its absolutely necessary, and that usually does the trick. i hear meletonin is great and natural. i too have that havnt tried it yet. from what im told is when you take meletonin, its a time release that works with the light. so im told you turn your lites and keep just a dim lite, and then it will kick in naturally and youll fall off to sleep, in the past i have taken it, and yes it did work for me. try that. hope things get better for you, hang in there

Have you ever been tested for sleep apnea? I would suggest you go to your family doctor and see if they think it could be sleep apnea, and then get tested for it. Sleep apnea is treatable.

Just joined this group. I've been taking ambien for 6 years. I really can't answer your ? but have some comments to ask u. Do u have any of these conditions since taking ambien? Memory loss, tiredness, lung problems, dizzy, can't concentrate? There's more but curious. Taking 5-10mg a nite but want to stop as the side effects are bad and waking up in middle of nite.. Anybody else have this. Good luck.
