the edge around it is what helps it stick on, it is not what keeps the medication in, the medication is impregnated into the material thats within the edges, so they can be cut, it just makes it more likely to fall off. That is why one would use medical tape though, its also suggested if one edge starts to peal off before the week is up to use to tape the edge down. The makers tell you not to cute it since then it makes it seem they come off to easy, and also if you need dose that they dont make in a single patch this is a trick to save money, or on the other hand if the lowest dose is to strong this is a way to get around this (thats why i was given instructions on how to cut in half, since he figures i will need 10 to get pain management but if i found 5 that i am starting off with to strong i can lower it to 2.5 myself.

Good to know that it starts to kick in sooner then i have been told, and i will be remaining on tramadol (does not sounds like i will be coming off it) and i am happy about that since i do find it helps, with both pain control (as bad as things are now, they were allot worse before tramadol) and with my moods as it acts a like an anti depressant also (not that i had depression outright lately, but anyone who is unable to move much and trapped in a house without the option of going out and being able to be social will always be more down then someone who has a life lol)

essaryl i have had these issues to from a young age and fully understand. the doctors logic is so flawed since being in bad pain all the time makes you more able to feel it and more sensitive to the pain then if they would just treat you for it in the first place, and well if your in horrible pain at all times who wants to live in the future when you cant see anything changing either. can i ask what causes/or might be the cause of her pain? If you think she would benefit from having someone to talk to i am very open to giving you my email address for that reason.

in other news, the patch is already helping me and i am a week and a day into using it, i see us upping my dose after the 2-3week mark seeing as doesn't cover all of my daily pain the way it is, and i have way worse spikes that are due in another 1-2weeks that i cant see it helping with much at all. though time will tell. I did screw myself up though when i miss-placed my Ralivia pills and didn't want to have to call the pharmacy about it so used some extras i had till i was completely out of what i could find so pain spiked when i ended up having almost 2days without my ralivia/tramadol but that was my own stupidity. i am happy i am not having any true adverse reactions to the patch, love how small it is and how easy it is. though i hope to remember to ask for a medical waist container for the used ones, since the idea of flushing them just erks me (don't we have enough pollution in our water that cant be filtered out as well as we would hope, i don't see adding pain medication in a raw form being a good idea)
