I'm prescribed 15mg of oxycodone every 6 hrs and this month I ran out early. My appointment is coming up soon, and at my pain management doctors office they usually do a UA to make sure I'm taking my medication and only that. I actually have one of my old 20mg oxycontin pills and I know they show up the same on a UA but my question is: Will it be enough? I'm sure it will show up positive for oxycodone but will the level be strong enough if I take it the morning of my appointment? Any answers will be appreciated

Hi Needhelp77, You didn't say what time your appointment is that day... but if you take your Oxy at least 6 hours before your appointment you should be fine. When they do a UA test, they are not able to check how much is in your system, just that it is there. You see, that type of test costs way too much and no insurance company will pay for it. I know this because I used to work for one of the largest health insurance companies in the US. So you will be okay. Good Luck
