I am a 26y/o female suffering from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome which has caused significantweight gain over the past 3 years. I was put on Metformin and cannot lose weight- no matter how much diet and excersise. My doctor prescribed Meridia 2 days ago, I have been reluctant to try it since there are so many severe side effects. A psychiatrist at my job said he knows many people who have had severe psychosis and hallucinations from this drug. Is this true? Also depression and anxiety- I already have mild anxiety/stress so I don't want to add to it... I need help deciding what to do..
Need feedback for Meridia- anyone in my position?

I carn't really say much on Merida - ive never heard of it personally, however i have the exact same problem. I was on metformin and it just did not agree with me at all so was then put on medoxyprogesterone (not 100% on the spelling sorry) and havent looked back since! really its just a tablet that you take when your due for a period its gives you a period or guides your period to come every month without fail you stop taking it as soon as you come on your monthly giving the female regualr monthly periods and keeping the womb ect healthly and encouraging the ovaries to work as normal however the down side this mediaction does not make pcos dissapear it just aids in keeping a healthy function untill the lady wishes to start a family.
