Hello, I have been feeling Nausea for about 4 Months now, everyone says its GERD. I never vommit just gag a lot. Would an antiemetic work for this and if so which one?

If it is definitely nausea that you have then Zofran (ondansetron) is probably the best antiemetic for chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting. Antiemetic won't work on GERD ... for that you can use a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole, etc. Try it and see if you have any benefits.

I have not had chemo, not sure why that came out on the question. I just feel like gagging all the time and everyone including doctors say its acid reflux. I'm currently being treated for H Pylori as well.

I have had HPylori and my doctor several years ago, prescribed Prilosec (Omeprazole is the generic) along with an antibiotic for two weeks. Since I did get over the HPylori, a bacterial infection, after the two week period, my doctor felt I should continue with the Prilosec. This is a proton pumper and inhibits the production of acid. I have been taking 1 pill 20mg a day and in the morning before I am out of bed with a full glass of water and do not eat for 1 hour. This stopped any gagging, mucous that was constantly nagging me. I tried decreased the pill to one every other day due to some side affects and this gagging and mucuous and my nose being blocked, all returned along with heartburn! So I am now back on the one a day pill. The ompeprazole is great for my nasal drip and I also cough besides gagging... right now my ribs are sore from all the coughing I did and when I took the omeprazole, within the hour, the gagging and coughing were gone.
