False, Dexedrine is manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline Corporation, and there are several generic manufacturers of this med.
Some of these manufacturers include: Barr Pharmaceuticals; KV Pharmaceuticals; Mallinckrodt Inc.
While brand-name Dexedrine tablets are no longer available, generic dextroamphetamine tablets are available in three strengths:
* Dextroamphetamine sulfate 5 mg tablets
* Dextroamphetamine sulfate 10 mg tablets
* Dextroamphetamine sulfate 15 mg tablets.
Generic dextroamphetamine long-acting capsules are available in the following strengths:
* Dextroamphetamine sulfate extended release 5 mg capsules
* Dextroamphetamine sulfate extended release 10 mg capsules
* Dextroamphetamine sulfate extended release 15 mg capsules.

Correction - Mallinckrodt does NOT manufacture dextroamphetamine any longer - for 2 years now. I spoke them on the phone TODAY and they hope to bring it back at some point in the future but nothing is in the plans. They are owned by Covidien Pharmaceuticals.
The only brand I have found to still exist in my extensive research is Barr/Teva. Barr is consistently found to have bad side effects by MANY users - see the ADHD forums for more on that. And Teva purchased Barr
several years ago and one person has said it went DOWN HILL since Teva took over.
So there is only one generic manufacturer as of today. DextroStat Brand is no longer manufactured. I'm uncertain if the Dexedrine Brand is still manufactured.
