You would then bill the appropriate time-based IV administration codes (96365 1st hr and 96366 for each addtl 31-60 minutes beyond the first hour). This is because Nabi-HB is not FDA approved for IV use. Hepagam is the only HBIG product approved for IV use at this time (bill J1753 IV use and J1571 for IM/SQ inj with IV administration codes). You can also check with your Medicare FI carrier and other payors for direction. They may allow the use of J1753 for Nabi-HB in addition to Hepagam since there is data to support giving it intravenous route.
